Four Ways to Get More O2 in Your Blood

Did you know that oxygen is perhaps the most important substance for healthy functioning of the body and possibly even anti-aging? When your blood is infused with good old O2, many mechanisms come into play which all equate to better health and cancer prevention. Remember, cancer cells thrive in an acidic, low-oxygen environment. By keeping your blood oxygen levels high, you can keep cancer tumor proliferation at bay.

As it turns, the best way to increase your blood oxygen levels is to go back to the basics. Here’s why:

Breathe!

Did you know that improper breathing may reduce oxygen levels in the blood by 20 percent? Low oxygen levels in the blood is called hypoxemia and can lead to anxiety, fatigue, headaches and in seriously low blood oxygen levels, cyanosis, coma and death. On the other hand, practicing deep breathing with your back straight and lungs and diaphragm engaged, can help turn on your healing responses. In fact, research conducted at the Augusta Women’s Center in Augusta city of Georgia, U.S., found that expanding the lungs triggers neurological responses which can slow the metabolic rate and turn on the parasympathetic nervous system.

Exercise

Getting adequate amounts of exercise every day, especially the kind where your heart rate increases for at least 30 minutes, can significantly raise your blood oxygen level. This occurs through an intricate communication between the brain and the body. As you work out, your cells burn oxygen more quickly. In turn, carbon dioxide levels increase and the brain increases respiration. The result: more oxygen to every cell in your body. Exercise also stimulates the growth of new blood vessels, which can help calm blood pressure for those with hypertension and type 2 diabetes.

Eat the right foods

This means eating foods that contain plenty of antioxidants as well as essential fatty acids. First of all, antioxidants can help the body use more efficiently the oxygen it receives. Consume foods that contain plenty of vitamins like A, C and E such as berries, certain legumes and dark green leafy vegetables like kale. Essential fatty acids help to increase oxygen levels in the hemoglobin, which is the oxygen-transport mechanism in the blood. Remember that the body cannot produce many types of fatty acids, so it is up to you to eat foods such as flax oil, olive oil and walnuts that have high amounts of monounsaturated fatty acids and omega 3s. Also keep in mind that consuming alcohol and sugary foods will both lead to oxidative stress which can lower blood oxygen levels and open you up to disease like cancer. According to research supported in part by the National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism using Blood Oxygen Level Dependent (BOLD) responses, adolescents with Alcohol Use Disorder (AUD) develop significant abnormalities in specific brain responses, including those involving memory and spatial awareness.

Exercise without Oxygen Therapy (EWOT)

If you are serious about increasing your oxygen intake – and if you are on a healing journey with breast cancer or another form of cancer then you should be – you may want to consider specialized modalities which can significantly increase your levels through the use of an oxygen device.

We have been discussing how essential oxygen is for the growth of healthy cells. But did you know that oxygen is deadly to cancer cells? Studies have confirmed that flooding the body with oxygen can significantly slow cancer cell growth. A multi-discipline in vivo study conducted at UT Southwestern Medical Center and supported in part by the National Cancer Institute found that when animal models with aggressive tumor growth and low oxygen in their bloodstreams inhaled O2, a “greater delay in tumor growth” occurred. The study researchers deduced that the proven effect oxygen has on cancer cell growth can be a boon for the effectiveness of other cancer treatment modalities.

You can use oxygen to help prevent and maybe even help heal cancer right at home. EWOT stands for “Exercise without Oxygen Therapy” and utilizes a specialized oxygen machine in combination with your regular exercise machine. The theory is simple and it works. While you are exercising either on a stationary bike or treadmill, you wear a mask that at first limits oxygen content slightly. As your heart rate accelerates, your arteries and capillaries dilate. Then, with a flip of a switch, you will begin to breathe in pure oxygen which quickly saturates your body with O2. Repeating this cycle multiple times for a total of 15 minutes creates amazing anti-inflammatory effects and will also weaken pathogens in the bloodstream.

Studies indicate that EWOT processes may be 20 times more powerful that hyperbaric chambers and may also help people with conditions like Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) with shortness of breath and the ability of COPD patients to exercise longer.

For cancer prevention and overall breast health, include techniques that infuse your body with oxygen organically, such as daily exercise and wheatgrass supplementation. Also, make sure you are getting enough essential minerals, like magnesium and selenium, which help to carry that all-important oxygen where it needs to go.

For Increased Oxygen, Go Back to the Basics

These are just a few tips that will help your body and brain receive and efficiently utilize the oxygen that nature supplies in abundance simply in the air we breathe. Other ways to increase oxygen levels include spending time in nature, reducing your exposure to electro-pollution and making sure you drink plenty of water that has been filtered for both basic contaminants and fluoride, since fluoride in the bloodstream can actually interfere with the amount of oxygen the body is able to take in.

Go back to the basics to get the oxygen your body needs for optimum health and cancer prevention. Breathe deep, get your heart pumping every day and eat a cancer-prevention diet to start enjoying the benefits of oxygen!
