Today, the hearing began over the file by which Gregorian Bivolaru was brought before the Court of Appeal in Paris in order to question the execution of the European arrest warrant emitted by the Romanian state.
Mr. Bivolaru was brought personally before the judge and was assisted by his French and Romanian lawyers. The prosecutor was also present in the courtroom.
After a brief deliberation, the court ruled that the hearing would be public.
At the hearing today of Gregorian Bivolaru, once again the existence and content of the European arrest warrant was brought to his attention, according to its official notification stage. Mr. Bivolaru contested the veracity of the content of this warrant.
Documents were filed, yesterday, 1st March and today, 2nd March, by lawyers defending Mr. Bivolaru. The Romanian authorities also submitted documents to the Court.
The court set the following hearing date in order to decide if to implement the arrest warrant. The date of the next hearing is 23rd March 2016. Until then the French judges will take the time to study the submitted documents.
