The subject of the piece is how to convince people to adopt \u201c<em>personal carbon allowance programs<\/em>.\u201d The WEF laments that such schemes have so far been largely unsuccessful.<\/p>\n<p>However, Schwab\u2019s group notes that improvements in tracking and surveillance technology are helping to overcome \u201c<em>political resistance<\/em>\u201d against such programs. \u201c<em>Covid-19 was the test of social responsibility<\/em>,\u201d the article notes. It continues by commending how \u201c<em>a huge number of unimaginable restrictions for public health were adopted by billions of citizens across the world.<\/em>\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201c<em>There were numerous examples globally of maintaining social distancing, wearing masks, mass vaccinations and acceptance of contact-tracing applications for public health, which demonstrated the core of personal social responsibility<\/em>,\u201d the WEF adds.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">WEF roadmap. Such conformity would be encouraged via technology, including artificial intelligence, digitization, and \u201c<em>smart home<\/em>\u201d devices, argues the group.<\/p>\n<p>The article goes on to call for a social-credit style carbon emissions rationing scheme.
