It\u2019s been a \u201cstrange\u201d and intense end of November for Pope Francis, who first welcomed a group of transgender women, mostly South American, on November 19, 2023, \u201cwith whom he has formed an ongoing relationship<\/em>,\u201d says the LGBTQ Catholic organization New Ways Ministry, which also pointed out that the transgender women had \u201ca luncheon at the Vatican marking the church\u2019s World Day of the Poor<\/em>.\u201d A video by The Associated Press<\/em> shows that \u201cTwo transgender women, Victoria Salas and Laura Esquivel were given a seat at the Pope\u2019s table<\/em>.\u201d<\/p>\n

The menu for the lunch in question also raised some eyebrows amongst the participants with a choice that can be described as very kinky to say the least, featuring cannelloni filled with spinach and ricotta, that obviously looked like a penis, followed by meatballs in a tomato basil sauce that of course looked like balls with tiramisu for dessert that in Italian means get it up<\/em>.<\/p>\n

Two days later, Pope Francis was involved in an awkward situation when he phoned President-elect Javier Milei to congratulate him on his victory, according to La Libertad Avanza<\/em> (LLA) sources. Those sources added that, during the conversation, Milei invited the Argentine pontiff to visit his home country next year. He received the call from Jorge Bergoglio while he was giving an interview to the La Naci\u00f3n+<\/em> channel at the Libertador Hotel, his de facto<\/em> political headquarters.<\/p>\n

Milei has previously described the Pope as \u201cthe representative of the Evil One on Earth<\/em>\u201d and accused the pontiff of having an \u201caffinity with murderous communists<\/em>.\u201d Milei\u2019s libertarian mentor, Benegas Lynch, even called for an end of diplomatic relations with the Vatican at the LLA closing campaign rally before the first round.<\/p>\n

However, during the first presidential debate, the two faced Milei, who is also a member of the Jesuit-controlled World Economic Forum, and said he had apologized to the Pope. \u201cIf the Pope wants to come to Argentina, he will be respected not only as head of state but also as leader of the Catholic Church<\/em>,\u201d he said then.<\/p>\n

Pope Francis has not returned to Argentina since leaving for the Vatican a decade ago, and revealed in April that he was planning to visit in 2024, when he might finally resign to avoid meeting the next president of the United States (spoiler alert: Donald J. Trump.).<\/p>\n
