Forbes<\/em> reports UnReal Milk<\/em>, from Boston startup Brown Foods<\/a>, is the first synthetic whole cow\u2019s milk<\/a>\u2014produced in a lab without livestock. It\u2019s Big Food\u2019s latest power play, masked as a \u201cclimate change\u201d solution.<\/p>\n

The excuse? Cow farts. The UN\u2019s IPCC and FAO claim cows emit over 500 liters of methane daily, driving 3.7% of global greenhouse gases.<\/p>\n

Forbes states, \u201cDairy farming is under increasing pressure for its environmental impact\u2026\u2026. emitting methane\u2014a greenhouse gas far more potent than CO\u2082.<\/em>\u201d Brown Foods\u2019 founders\u2014Sohail Gupta, Bhavna Tandon, and Avhijeet Kapoor\u2014say their lab milk cuts carbon emissions by 82%, water use by 90%, and land use by 95%.<\/p>\n

Gupta told Forbes, \u201cUnReal Milk is produced using mammalian cell culture\u2014replicating the nutrition, taste, and texture of traditional dairy.<\/em>\u201d<\/p>\n

MIT\u2019s Dr. Richard Braatz, on Brown Foods\u2019 advisory board, confirmed to Forbes, \u201cThe first version of UnReal Milk is already undergoing lab validation.<\/em>\u201d<\/p>\n

Tests at MIT-affiliated Whitehead Institute found it matches real milk\u2019s proteins, fats, and carbs.<\/p>\n

Now, analysts at The Insight Partners are predicting lab-grown dairy could seize 33% of the $893 billion dairy market by 2030.<\/p>\n

Unsurprisingly, Gates is a key player in the plot to eradicate cows and dairy and control the food on your family\u2019s dinner table.<\/p>\n

In 2022, his Breakthrough Energy Ventures joined a $226 million round for Motif FoodWorks, a lab-milk firm, per Global Corporate Venturing. Israel\u2019s Imagindairy, backed by Strauss Group, nabbed $15 million to join the race.<\/p>\n

Forbes<\/em> notes other efforts: Germany\u2019s Senara grows mammary cells, Israel\u2019s Wilk makes milk fats, and Chile\u2019s NotCo, with $235 million from 2021 funding, uses AI to mimic dairy.<\/p>\n

Now, the elites are targeting babies. U.S.-based Biomilq, launched in 2019, is crafting lab-grown breast milk.<\/p>\n

CEO Michelle Egger said, \u201cOur product will shift demand away from the dairy industry\u2026\u2026. nourishing babies with a 100% human alternative feeding option.<\/em>\u201d<\/p>\n
