Alternative media recently deplored the ignorance of journalists trusted to write on science without knowing, apparently, that plants absorb carbon. They referred especially to the BBC<\/em>, which seems entirely credulous about the UN agenda and unwilling to believe biology.<\/p>\n

BBC<\/em> said last fall<\/a> that \u201cResearchers are also worried that forests are losing their ability to soak up carbon, which could be contributing to record levels of warming gas in the atmosphere<\/em>.\u201d Researchers here being the climate zealot branch of the WMO (World Meteorological Organization). \u201cBut the WMO\u2019s scientists also say they have seen some evidence that as the world gets warmer, trees are not able to soak up the same level of CO2<\/sub> as they once were<\/em>.\u201d<\/p>\n

CO2<\/sub> is plants\u2019 food, so when there\u2019s more of it, plants starve. Or so journalists think.<\/p>\n

According to Canary Media<\/em><\/a>, the U.S. faces a weird alternative energy problem. Hydro power is collapsing because older stations need to be relicensed and for some strange reason various layers of bureaucracy are making it so hard and expensive some just shut down instead.<\/p>\n

So the unstoppable transition could rush onward. \u201cOr, as has been going on for years, the U.S. could continue to lose gigawatts of power as hydroelectric facilities shut down rather than absorb the high costs of relicensing \u2013 especially with cheaper competition from gas, wind, and solar<\/em>.\u201d<\/p>\n

Wait. Gas is cheaper? And all those subsidies for wind and solar are destroying hydro? This game is hard.<\/p>\n

So is weather forecasting, especially if mixed with zealotry. But let\u2019s see them try to pin this one on global heating: The Weather Network<\/em> warned<\/a> that \u201cPortions of seven provinces and all three territories will see snowflakes fly before Thanksgiving arrives<\/em>.\u201d Thanksgiving in Canada (October 13, 2025) is considerably earlier than in the United States (November 27, 2025). By the way, this season the snowfall started in Canada on October 26, so nothing unusual about this (it usually starts snowing in late October \u2013 early November).<\/p>\n

From the hypocrisy file, just how important is it to limit our carbon footprints? Canada hosts G7 Summit discussing competition issues related to algorithmic pricing<\/em><\/a>. And how did Konrad Ost, Eiji Chatani, Maria Jaspers, Beno\u00eet C\u0153ur\u00e9, Roberto Rustichelli, and Chris Prevett get to Ottawa for this photo op, and with how many staff? The irony of meeting in person to discuss modern digital technology instead of videoconferencing was presumably lost on them. As was the hypocrisy. And the futility, since they do it every year.<\/p>\n

As they also hold events<\/a> like \u201cthe G7 Foreign Ministers\u2019 Meeting<\/em>\u201d so people who flew to Quebec this spring for an identical meeting, and to New York for a UN meeting can fly to Toronto and see one another yet again and eat more canap\u00e9s<\/em> somewhere fancy near Niagara Falls while they reassure one another that uttering their usual self-satisfied clich\u00e9s<\/em> actually constitutes statesmanship. After all, someone has to do it. As, indeed, someone else has to pay for the plane tickets.<\/p>\n

Also from the how clueless is the Canadian government file, they\u2019re all into \u201cinvestment<\/em>\u201d (they don\u2019t call it \u2018spending\u2019) to make their ghastly deficit less obvious. But they\u2019re the people who kept \u201cinvesting\u201d in EV manufacturing ventures that promptly went very publicly bust so it was just spending. And now Canada installs 157 new electric vehicle chargers for Atlantic Canadians<\/em><\/a>. And so woke, too. \u201cThe projects also include funding for two Indigenous organizations to install EV chargers serving a highway retail hub and the Halifax International Airport<\/em>.\u201d Fully 157. That\u2019s a lot of hype. Also, \u201cSince 2016, the Government of Canada has allocated more than $1 billion in funding to support the deployment of electric vehicle charging stations across the country<\/em>.\u201d Just try to find one, though.<\/p>\n

Speaking of the government of Canada, which under Mark Carney is now saving citizens from ruin, by constantly flying places and uttering clich\u00e9s<\/em> instead of going to his office and dealing with files, his cherished \u201cNet-Zero Banking Alliance<\/em>\u201d abruptly shut down altogether<\/a>. Canadians still hope he is good at something besides self-promotion and burning of carbon-intensive jet fuel.<\/p>\n
