The WEF-supported simulation <em>Cyber Polygon<\/em>, which explored scenarios of a worldwide cyber collapse, became particularly well-known. Critics at the time warned that, under the guise of digital security, massive centralization, surveillance, and new global control structures were being prepared.<\/p>\n<p>Now, an AI model has suddenly emerged that, according to the <em>FT<\/em> and <em>Reuters<\/em>, can identify thousands of critical vulnerabilities in operating systems, browsers, and financial networks \u2013 faster than human experts can even react.<\/p>\n<p>Even more alarming: The warnings aren&#8217;t coming from alternative media, but directly from the heart of the global financial system. The chairman of the Financial Stability Board (FSB), Andrew Bailey, apparently personally summoned Anthropic to meetings with international central banks and financial regulators. <em>Bloomberg<\/em> reported back in April that the FSB was gathering information on the risks of autonomous cyberattacks.<\/p>\n<p>This makes it clear: the fear is no longer limited to hacker attacks on individual companies. The concern is a domino effect caused by AI-driven attacks on the global financial system itself. If autonomous models can find and exploit security vulnerabilities every second, banks, stock exchanges, power grids, satellite communications, and payment systems could all be plunged into chaos simultaneously.<\/p>\n<p>What is particularly worrying is the extreme concentration of power. According to the <em>Financial Times<\/em>, only a select few players, such as Amazon, Microsoft, and JPMorgan Chase, currently have access to <em>Mythos<\/em>. While governments publicly discuss data privacy, a new digital power architecture is emerging behind closed doors, in which a handful of corporations control systems that could potentially destabilize entire economies.<\/p>\n<p>The real scandal, however, is something else: The same circles that have been pushing for years to increase the digitization of critical infrastructure \u2013 digital IDs, cloud dependencies, AI-driven financial systems, smart cities and automated administration \u2013 are now suddenly warning that these very networked systems could become the Achilles&#8217; heel of modern society.<\/p>\n<p>This is eerily reminiscent of the logic of pandemic policy: First, maximum technological networking is sold as having no alternative \u2013 then the resulting vulnerability becomes an argument for even more central control, surveillance and global regulation.<\/p>\n<p>The IMF has already warned that AI-driven cyberattacks could trigger \u201c<em>macro-financial shocks<\/em>.\u201d At the same time, regulators are now openly saying that attacks will occur \u201c<em>at machine speed<\/em>\u201d in the future.<\/p>\n<p>This brings closer a scenario that sounded like science fiction just a few years ago: autonomous AI systems that can simultaneously destabilize financial markets, critical infrastructure and digital communication \u2013 while governments and global institutions, citing the \u201c<em>cyber emergency<\/em>\u201d, demand new emergency powers and control mechanisms.<\/p>\n<p>The <em>Financial Times<\/em>&#8216; report could therefore be far more than just a tech news item.
