It is the advent of ubiquitous connectivity &#8211; the connectivity of everything and everyone everywhere &#8211; through wireless communications,&#8221; the department explains in a press release.&#160;<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>  &#8220;DOD&#8217;s efforts focus on large-scale experimentation and prototyping of dual-use (military and commercial) 5G technology that will provide high speeds, quicker response times and the ability to handle many more wireless devices than current wireless technology.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>  According to the Defense Department some of the installations include: Naval Base Norfolk, Virginia; Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam, Hawaii; Joint Base San Antonio, Texas; the National Training Center at Fort Irwin, Calif.; Fort Hood, Texas; Camp Pendleton, California; and Tinker Air Force Base, Oklahoma.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>  Previously chosen locations include: Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Washington; Hill Air Force Base, Utah; Naval Base San Diego, California; Marine Corps Logistics Base Albany, Georgia; and Nellis Air Force.<\/p>\n<p>    <strong><br \/>\n      <br \/>\n    <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>    <strong><br \/>\n      <br \/>\n    <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>    <strong><br \/>\n      <br \/>\n    <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>    <strong>yogaesoteric<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>    <strong>July 6, 2020<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>  &#160;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>&#160; The Pentagon is selecting more and more military locations for experimentation and testing related to high-speed 5G cellular service. &#8220;5G is the fifth-generation of cellular network technology.
