The district claims it\u2019s the first in the nation to deploy such technology.<\/p>\n<p>But teachers, parents, and Native American residents are fighting back \u2013 and their concerns read like a checklist of everything wrong with Big Tech\u2019s creeping influence over American children.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">Sex Doll Manufacturer Realbotix Now Teaching New York School Kids. How Appropriate.<\/p>\n<p>Abyss Creations, LLC is the mother company of Realbotix, the producer of the infamous RealDoll sold for sexual intercourse.<\/p>\n<p>New York school district to become one of the first in the United States to introduce a humanoid robot in the classroom.<\/p>\n<p>Realbotix is a robotics company piloting its &#8220;Optio&#8221; AI teaching assistant and &#8220;Sally,&#8221; an ultra-realistic M-Series humanoid robot, in New York\u2019s Salamanca City Central School District. She will have a Western New York accent and will teach 11th and 12th-grade students.<\/p>\n<p>\u2014 SynCronus (@syncronus) <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/syncronus\/status\/2078986012328599878?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">July 19, 2026<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.x.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u201cCreepy\u201d and \u201cDehumanizing\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Salamanca Teachers\u2019 Association president Lacey Pihlblad didn\u2019t mince words.<\/p>\n<p>\u201c<em>The Salamanca teachers\u2019 union as a whole is concerned about the background of the company of Realbotix<\/em>,\u201d she said, citing data privacy fears. \u201c<em>We\u2019re very concerned about the security of the software that they\u2019re implementing, and whether or not the data will be stored, how it will be gathered, are the recording capabilities<\/em>.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Translation: They\u2019re putting a surveillance device that looks like a person in front of kids, and nobody can tell parents what occurs to the data.<\/p>\n<p>Melinda Person, president of the New York State United Teachers union, called the whole idea \u201c<em>kind of creepy<\/em>\u201d \u2013 and she\u2019s right.<\/p>\n<p>\u201c<em>Putting a lifeless machine in front of very young students is a bad idea<\/em>,\u201d Person said. \u201c<em>A machine that the intention of it is to simulate a human relationship with young people who are just learning those skills of how to interact\u2026.\u2026 will lead to the dehumanization of the profession of education<\/em>.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The union is now negotiating contract protections around AI \u2013 a sign that even the people responsible for educating our children see the writing on the wall.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" class=\"fitvidsignore\" title=\"YouTube video player\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/4Wr0ZN3Q1gI?si=D08ZPtCQoVEcd3Y1\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><strong>The Company Behind the Robot Has a Disturbing Past<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Here\u2019s where it gets worse. Realbotix, formerly known as Tokens.com, is a Toronto-based company that pivoted from cryptocurrency to humanoid robots after purchasing Simulacra \u2013 a Las Vegas company known for manufacturing realistic sex dolls \u2013 for $16.7 million in April 2024.<\/p>\n<p>The company denies any connection between its sex doll subsidiary and the school robot. But you have to ask: Is this really who we want building the machines that interact with children?<\/p>\n<p><strong>Native American Children Used as Guinea Pigs<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Perhaps the most damning aspect of this program is where it\u2019s being tested. Salamanca High School sits on the Allegany territory of the Seneca Nation. Nearly 40% of the student body is Native American.<\/p>\n<p>\u201c<em>Out of all the schools in New York state, let alone in the US, they chose to experiment on Native American children yet again<\/em>,\u201d said Sierra May Abrams, a substitute teacher at the school and local resident.<\/p>\n<p>Abrams drew a direct line between this pilot program and the horrific legacy of Native American boarding schools \u2013 institutions designed to strip Indigenous children of their culture and identity.<\/p>\n<p>\u201c<em>Our culture is struggling to stay alive due to the impact of the Native American boarding schools and what they did to our elders<\/em>,\u201d she said. \u201c<em>We live on the only reservation located in a city so it\u2019s just absolutely insane that we\u2019re the ones \u2018testing it out\u2019.<\/em>\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Alyson Brown, a community health specialist and Seneca Nation member who graduated from Salamanca, said many local families see history repeating itself.<\/p>\n<p>\u201c<em>Many native families are viewing this pilot program as history repeating itself<\/em>,\u201d Brown said. \u201c<em>I see nothing good to come from this being introduced in the classroom setting. I worry for the cognitive development of young brains in this exposure.<\/em>\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>Big Tech\u2019s War on Real Education<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This isn\u2019t just about one robot in one school. It\u2019s about a broader agenda to replace human connection with algorithms, teachers with machines, and community with corporate surveillance.<\/p>\n<p>The New York State Education Department has raised \u201c<em>serious concerns about student privacy, appropriate safeguards, and the risk that the robot could be used to perform functions that should remain the responsibility of trained, qualified professionals<\/em>.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>But the district isn\u2019t listening. Superintendent Mark Beehler didn\u2019t respond to multiple requests for comment.<\/p>\n<p>The teachers\u2019 union wants a pause. Parents want answers. Native American families want to know why their children are once again being treated as test subjects.<\/p>\n<p>And Realbotix? They\u2019re not commenting on any of it.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The Bottom Line<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>American people\u2019s tax dollars are funding a program that puts a robot built by a company with ties to the sex doll industry in a classroom full of children \u2013 on Native American land \u2013 while nobody can explain what data it\u2019s collecting or why it\u2019s necessary.<\/p>\n<p>This is what the future looks like if we don\u2019t push back: machines teaching our kids, corporations harvesting their data, and communities silenced by bureaucrats who won\u2019t return a phone call.<\/p>\n<p>The teachers of Salamanca are sounding the alarm.
