The speech was delivered on October 20th in the Strasbourg plenary session. And the allegation that Ukrainian special forces are now operating outside Europe is not unfounded.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-248168\" src=\"https:\/\/yogaesoteric.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/10\/1-95-300x200.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"560\" height=\"373\" srcset=\"https:\/\/yogaesoteric.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/10\/1-95-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/yogaesoteric.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/10\/1-95.jpg 600w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 560px) 100vw, 560px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Braun addressed his remarks directly to EU High Representative Kaja Kallas. He accused her of promoting and subsidizing Kyiv, which he described as a \u201c<em>corrupt neo-Nazi regime<\/em>,\u201d and of building it up as a future EU partner. He then declared that war and warfare had become a \u201c<em>national industry and main export<\/em>\u201d for Ukraine.<\/p>\n<p>Braun&#8217;s wording reflects his political assessment. More interesting is the specific accusation on which he bases it.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"de\">Grzegorz Braun hat im EU-Parlament neue erschreckende Fakten zur ukrainischen Armee enth\u00fcllt.<\/p>\n<p>Pl\u00f6tzlich war es vorbei, das Mikrofon wurde abgestellt. https:\/\/t.co\/CuJTuQQKAB<\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Don (@Donuncutschweiz) <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/Donuncutschweiz\/status\/2113899215638155640?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">October 24, 2026<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.x.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>Niger did indeed raise serious accusations against France and Ukraine.<\/p>\n<p>Braun referred to a speech given by Nigerien Prime Minister Ali Mahaman Lamine Zeine before the United Nations.<\/p>\n<p>At the end of September, Zeine accused France at the UN General Assembly of jointly supporting armed groups with Ukraine that were destabilizing Niger and preparing attacks on military positions and oil facilities. He spoke of forces in the northeast of the country and in the border region, claiming that France was controlling these groups while Ukraine was providing support. However, he did not publicly present any evidence for these claims.<\/p>\n<p>This is not the first time Niger has made such accusations. As early as 2026, the military leadership claimed that French and Ukrainian forces were operating in northern Benin. The Ukrainian government rejected this at the time, explicitly stating that it had not deployed any troops of its own to Benin.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Ukrainian special forces are indeed operating in Africa<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Braun&#8217;s fundamental thesis of Ukrainian warfare outside of Europe is not unfounded.<\/p>\n<p>In September 2026, <em>CNN<\/em> published an extensive investigation into Ukrainian operations in Africa. According to the report, approximately 15 Ukrainian specialists were located in northern Mali, supporting local rebels in their fight against Russian forces. <em>CNN<\/em> also reported on Ukrainian personnel in Libya and Sudan, as well as drone training for fighters and forces from the Sahel region.<\/p>\n<p>According to a source from the Ukrainian military intelligence service, Ukrainian specialists were also involved in operations aimed at weakening Russian forces in Africa.<\/p>\n<p>The war between Russia and Ukraine has thus effectively shifted, at least in part, to other continents. Ukraine is using its now extensive experience with drone warfare, reconnaissance, and special operations to support partners outside Europe while simultaneously serving Russian interests.<\/p>\n<p>This is no longer just true for Africa.<\/p>\n<p>Ukrainian specialists have also been deployed in the Middle East to assist states in defending against Iranian Shahed drones. <em>CNN<\/em> explicitly describes this as part of Kyiv&#8217;s strategy to exert pressure on Russian and Iranian interests even outside the actual Ukrainian war zone.<\/p>\n<p><strong>A European war is increasingly becoming a global proxy conflict<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>It is precisely at this point that Braun&#8217;s speech acquires its true political significance.<\/p>\n<p>His provocative question to Kallas was essentially: Should the European population also use their money to finance wars waged by Ukrainian forces on other continents?<\/p>\n<p>Braun is thus posing a question that goes beyond his polemical language.<\/p>\n<p>If Ukrainian forces actually become active in Mali, Libya, Sudan or other states, while Ukraine is at the same time heavily dependent on European financial and military aid, the question inevitably arises as to how far the political mandate of this support extends.<\/p>\n<p>The EU continues to view Ukraine as a key line of defence against Russia while simultaneously pushing forward with the country&#8217;s accession prospects. Kallas stated on October 12 that Ukraine is \u201c<em>Europe&#8217;s first line of defence against Russian aggression<\/em>.\u201d EU member states also discussed further financial assistance and a deepening of security cooperation.<\/p>\n<p>Braun reverses this argument: If Kyiv increasingly deploys its military capabilities in Africa and the Middle East, is Europe still solely financing the defence of Ukraine \u2013 or indirectly already a much broader geopolitical strategy? And if so, on whose behalf?<\/p>\n<p>A few years ago, the idea of Ukrainian drone experts and special forces operating in Mali, Libya or the Middle East would have been unusual.<\/p>\n<p>Today, at least part of it is documented.<\/p>\n<p>Niger goes even further, accusing Kyiv of supporting armed proxies against the Sahel state in conjunction with France. The accusation comes at a time when Ukrainian military operations outside Europe are no longer mere speculation.<\/p>\n<p>Braun&#8217;s statement that Ukraine is now exporting its warfare is therefore polemical \u2013 but it touches on a real development: The Russian-Ukrainian war is no longer confined to Ukraine.
