\u201cA group is suing Tulsa Mayor G.T. Bynum and Tulsa Health Department Executive Director Bruce Dart, saying the city\u2019s mask mandate is harmful to healthy people<\/em>,\u201d reports Activist Post<\/a>. <\/em>The group includes business owners and two doctors who \u201care asking the city to immediately repeal the mask mandate which was passed by city council.<\/em>\u201d<\/p>\n

At a press conference<\/a>, optometrist Robert Zoellner said: \u201c\u2026 the fear factor has got to step back. This idea that I don\u2019t want to give you something that I don\u2019t even know that I have is almost at the point of ridiculous. Let\u2019s use some common sense.<\/em>\u201d<\/p>\n

Dr. James Meehan, MD followed by warning that mask wearing has \u201cwell-known risks that have been well-studied and they\u2019re not being discussed in the risk analysis<\/em>\u201d.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m seeing patients that have facial rashes, fungal infections, bacterial infections. Reports coming from my colleagues, all over the world<\/u>, are suggesting that the bacterial pneumonias are on the rise<\/u>.<\/em><\/p>\n

Why might that be? Because untrained members of the public are wearing medical masks, repeatedly\u2026 in a non-sterile fashion\u2026 They\u2019re becoming contaminated. They\u2019re pulling them off of their car seat, off the rearview mirror, out of their pocket, from their countertop, and they\u2019re reapplying a mask that should be worn fresh and sterile every single time.<\/em>\u201d<\/p>\n

Dr. Meehan adds: \u201cNew research is showing that cloth masks may be increasing the aerosolization of the SARS-COV-2 virus into the environment causing an increased transmission of the disease\u2026<\/em>\u201d<\/p>\n

In conclusion, Dr. Meehan states: \u201cIn February and March [2020] we were told not to wear masks. What changed? The science didn\u2019t change. The politics did. This is about compliance. It\u2019s not about science\u2026 Our opposition is using low-level retrospective observational studies that should not be the basis for making a medical decision of this nature.<\/em>\u201d<\/p>\n
