<\/a>In an interview with Fox News<\/em>, Director of National Intelligence John Ratcliffe said if China would ever outmaneuver the United States and become the globe\u2019s leading superpower, that would endanger \u201cindividual liberties<\/em>\u201d and \u201cfreedoms<\/em>\u201d around the world, noting that \u201cfree enterprise [is] all at stake<\/em>.\u201d<\/p>\nHe also said that China is \u201caltering DNA<\/em>,\u201d citing U.S. intelligence reports indicating as much, The Epoch Times<\/em> reported. \u201cIt\u2019s one of the aspects our intelligence shows that China is doing. (\u2026) The People\u2019s Republic of China has 2 million strong in its military, and it\u2019s aiming to make them stronger through, you know, gene editing,<\/em>\u201d Ratcliffe said, noting further that it\u2019s \u201cjust one of the ways that, you know, China is aiming to essentially dominate the planet and set the rules in the world order<\/em>.\u201d<\/p>\n Highlighting the Communist Party of China\u2019s gross and frequent human rights abuses, Ratcliffe said what people everywhere \u201cneed to understand is this is an authoritarian regime.<\/em>\u201d He added that the Communist government \u201cdoesn\u2019t care about people\u2019s personal rights<\/em>.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cWe\u2019ve seen what they\u2019ve done to the Uighurs; we\u2019ve seen what they\u2019ve done in Hong Kong. It\u2019s about putting the state first, and that is the exact opposite of what has always made America great. Personal liberties, freedoms, free enterprise those aspects are all at stake if China dominates<\/em>,\u201d Ratcliffe, who was a GOP congressman from Texas before President Donald Trump appointed him to be DNI, added.<\/p>\n Ratcliffe\u2019s remarks to Fox News<\/em> were in line with a piece he wrote for The Wall Street Journal<\/em> in which he labeled the Chinese regime as America\u2019s \u201cnational security threat No. 1,<\/em>\u201d while providing more details about the DNA testing. \u201cChina has even conducted human testing on members of the People\u2019s Liberation Army in hope of developing soldiers with biologically enhanced capabilities<\/em>,\u201d he said. \u201cThere are no ethical boundaries to Beijing\u2019s pursuit of power.<\/em>\u201d<\/p>\n The Epoch Times <\/em>noted further: \u201cChinese researcher He Jiankui in 2018 used CRISPR-Cas9 gene editing to alter the DNA of embryos of seven couples. Last year, researchers said the regime would pursue to use CRISPR gene-editing capabilities to alter the capabilities of its soldiers. The CCP \u2018is pursuing military applications for biology and looking into promising intersections with other disciplines, including brain science, supercomputing, and artificial intelligence<\/em>,\u2019\u201d Elsa Kania and Wilson Vorndick wrote in Defense One<\/em> in 2019.<\/p>\n \u201cWhile the potential leveraging of CRISPR to increase human capabilities on the future battlefield remains only a hypothetical possibility at the present, there are indications that Chinese military researchers are starting to explore its potential<\/em>,\u201d Kania and Vorndick added.<\/p>\n In other developments related to China, Ratcliff said Beijing was already targeting members of the alleged incoming administration of Joe Biden and Congress, conducting influence operations. \u201cTo address these threats and more, I have shifted resources inside the $85 billion annual intelligence budget to increase the focus on China<\/em>,\u201d Ratcliffe announced. \u201cThis shift must continue to ensure U.S. intelligence has the resources it needs to give policy makers unvarnished insights into China\u2019s intentions and activities.<\/em>\u201d<\/p>\n He also urged Congress to ditch the hyper-partisanship and unite to address the threat posed by Communist China as Beijing is \u201cpreparing for an open-ended period of confrontation with the U.S<\/em>.\u201d \u201cWashington should also be prepared<\/em>,\u201d he wrote. \u201cLeaders is necessary to work across partisan divides to understand the threat, speak about it openly, and take action to address it.<\/em>\u201d That\u2019s going to be a gigantic problem because Biden and his son are compromised by Chinese business and government interests.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n yogaesoteric<\/strong> \u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" Not only is China using its wealth and growing influence to supplant U.S. dominance around the world, but apparently Beijing is also looking to create a super-human military that is rivaled by no one.
