Why the CDC\u2019s narrative on the safety (or lack thereof) of Covid-19 vaccines for pregnant women \u2013 in contradiction to the medical science \u2013 is unknown. But one aspect is for certain; the CDC\u2019s reports appear designed to shout-down the cautious results quietly reported by the <em>New England Journal of Medicine<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>According to the abstract of the study published earlier this year, many pregnant women are receiving messenger RNA (mRNA) coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) vaccines, but data are limited on their safety in pregnancy. Using data from December 21 through February 14, the study was produced by many well-respected and world-renowned epidemiologists, including Tom T. Shimabukuro, M.D., Shin Y. Kim, M.P.H., Tanya R. Myers, Ph.D., Pedro L. Moro, M.D., Titilope Oduyebo, M.D., Lakshmi Panagiotakopoulos, M.D., Paige L. Marquez, M.S.P.H., Christine K. Olson, M.D., Ruiling Liu, Ph.D., Karen T. Chang, Ph.D., Sascha R. Ellington, Ph.D., and Veronica K. Burkel, M.P.H.<\/p>\n<p>Results from the study are tragic. It appears that many women have jeopardized their infants\u2019 health and some have, no doubt, caused their death by taking a vaccine designed to cure an illness that has an almost zero percent chance of killing expectant mothers or their babies.<\/p>\n<p>The study examined 35,691 v-safe participants aged 16 to 54 who were pregnant. The study found several concerns, including that injection-site pain was reported more frequently among pregnant women. Among 3958 participants enrolled in the v-safe pregnancy registry, 827 had a completed pregnancy, of which 115 (13.9%) resulted in a pregnancy loss and 712 (86.1%) resulted in a live birth (mostly among participants with vaccination in the third trimester).
