Climate change is a farce created by the media and the politicians it benefits, physicist Steven Koonin told Tucker Carlson in a new episode of Fox Nation\u2019s<\/em> \u201cTucker Carlson Today<\/em>.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s a fiction of the media<\/em>,\u201d he said. \u201cAnd the politicians who like to promote that notion<\/em>.\u201d<\/p>\n

According to data from the U.S. government, Koonin explained, there are \u201cno detectable human influences<\/em>\u201d on natural disasters like hurricanes for more than a century, and today\u2019s heatwaves in the U.S. are just as common as they were back in 1900. \u201cThe warmest temperatures have not gone up in the last 60 years<\/em>,\u201d he noted.<\/p>\n

The physicist pointed out that politicians love to throw around the term \u201cexistential threat<\/em>\u201d when it comes to the topic of climate, but he argued that government officials like Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg are unqualified to raise the issue to such an extreme.<\/p>\n

\u201cI don\u2019t think the science says what\u2026 Secretary Pete thinks it says<\/em>,\u201d he said. \u201cIn fact, I can guarantee you he\u2019s never read the science<\/em>.<\/p>\n

\u201cFact, I can guarantee you that Sen. Sanders, President Biden, Ambassador Kerry, Secretary Granholm have never read the science \u2013 because you need to be a scientist in order to do that. And in fact, when you read it, there\u2019s very little in terms of extreme weather that\u2019s changed over the last many decades<\/em>.\u201d<\/p>\n

Koonin encouraged other scientists to stand up to politicians who are pushing an exaggerated narrative of climate change in order to support the community\u2019s credibility.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt is a failure of the scientific community not to stand up and say, \u2018Guys, you know, you have over-egged the custard. You really need to be much more circumspect in how you talk about this,\u2019<\/em>\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

\u201cAnd, of course, that gets then picked up by the politicians, and the media love to talk about catastrophes<\/em>.\u201d<\/p>\n
