MISA reply to the publications in France that recently commented upon the situation of Gregorian Bivolaru

Esteemed Mrs./ Mr. editor in chief,
In the article entitled One of the “most wanted people in Europe” was arrested in Paris, published in your publication on February 26, 2016, February 27, 2016 and February 28, 2016, a series of obvious false information was presented, which brought serious prejudice to the image of Mr. Gregorian Bivolaru.
Accordingly, and in compliance with the provisions of Article 13 of the Law from July 29, 1881, regarding the press right, MISA spokesman Costică Cojocaru exercises his right to request the right of reply, and consequently asks you to include in the next issue of your publication the following text:
Mr. Gregorian Bivolaru, dissident who also has political asylum in Sweden, was arrested by French Police on February 26, 2016 in Paris. His case is already in the attention of many organizations that protect the human rights, because of the continuous abuses against him done by the Romanian authorities for more than 30 years.
On the grounds that he cannot benefit of a fair trial in Romania, he received political asylum in Sweden in 2006. Not taking in consideration Mr. Gregorian Bivolaru’s political refugee status, his name appeared on the eumostwanted.eu website, alongside criminals and terrorists, being illegally charged with another offence, inexistent in reality, and not with the one for which he had been sentenced originally in Romania. The offence for which he was abusively sentenced by the Romanian justice does not appear actually on the list of the 32 offences for which Europol may rightfully involve in catching European fugitives. This shows that the Romanian authorities seriously and deliberately forged the information delivered to Europol in order to obtain, through insidious manipulation, the involvement of the European Police in the abusive arrest of Gregorian Bivolaru. The information your publication presented, that Mr. Gregorian Bivolaru was charged with child pornography and trafficking human beings, is an immense lie, which is insidiously propagated by the very institutions of the Romanian state that continue the furious persecutions, the flagrant abuses and the repeated infringements of the human rights in Mr. Gregorian Bivolaru’s case.
Gregorian Bivolaru was sentenced to 6 years in jail for sexual act with a minor, although the alleged victim repeatedly denied the accusation, and currently denies it as well. Moreover, she reveals the serious abuses done by the prosecutors against her, in order to force her through blackmail, beating and threats with imprisonment, to sign a falsely accusing statement that would incriminate Gregorian Bivolaru. The fact that she withdrew her statement the very following day it is particularly significant. It needs to be said that, even though Gregorian Bivolaru has been acquitted by two courts (the first instance and the appeal, both ruling that he is innocent regarding this accusation), later on, abusively and illegally, the High Court of Cassation and Justice in Romania annulled the two acquittal decisions and, after an obviously illegal procedure, it sentenced him through a final ruling to an unfair and excessively big punishment as compared to the transgression of which he was unjustly accused.
A very important specification that is necessary to be mentioned concerns the unrighteous association of the “sect” appellation, which creates a stigmatization able to mislead the public opinion regarding the MISA yoga school (established in 1989 by Gregorian Bivolaru). Regarding this aspect, we consider the report of researcher Karl Erik Nylund, one of the most renowned European experts on sects, to be especially significant. Mr. Nylund made an exhaustive, in-depth study in 2005, and in the end his conclusions showed that, in reality, “MISA yoga school is an eminently spiritual movement, promoting an alternative, healthy life-style, and not a sect”.

In the end, we remind you that THERE SHOULD NEVER EXIST A PRESS INFORMATION SUPERIOR TO THE TRUTH. Precisely for this reason, in the name of the truth, which should be a guide for the publication you head, we dare to hope that you will not ignore the truth regarding the aspects about which you wrote in the published article and we respectfully ask, in the name of the truth, to urgently add this right of reply.
