Two states, extreme in their own way, which are often discussed on the spiritual path: the state of WISDOM and the state of FOOLISHNESS (V)

By eminent yoga teacher Gregorian Bivolaru

In the following presentation, we will talk about these states one by one and reveal some of their important secrets. We hope that all these aspects will be of real use to you, especially to those of you who are on a spiritual path and practice yoga with enthusiasm and dedication.

A powerful, quick and crucial antidote

When we analyse with great care and lucidity these aspects that are, to a certain extent, defining either for the existence, for the appearance, for the persistence, or for the growth and amplification of the state of foolishness in the universe of human beings, it becomes possible to realize why it is so difficult to define the state of foolishness.

In this way, we come to realize that, in its obviously complex reality, foolishness is a protean state, a mixture of unfavourable experiences and characteristics whose final result is this strange cocktail called foolishness.

All of this helps us understand why the state of foolishness is so difficult to define, especially when we ignore and thus lose sight of the fact that there are many determining factors, most often unsuspected, that contribute either to the existence, to the appearance, to the maintenance, or to the accentuation that is evident in some cases of the protean state called stupidity.

Foolishness, whether minor, moderate, major, very major, immense, astonishing, or abysmal, is a characteristic state of the vast majority of human beings who have not attained a considerable state of wisdom.

Essentially, the state of foolishness highlights the absence of real, Godly wisdom, and the considerable state of Godly wisdom highlights, when attained, the absence of foolishness.

Beyond appearances, however, foolishness has certain specific degrees of intensity; it’s one aspect to be merely foolish and quite another to be an imbecile or even a complete imbecile. For example, the most extreme degrees of foolishness are crass idiocy and oligophrenia.

To the extent that we have realized the obvious reality of these issues, it is welcome and creative for each of you to finally ask yourselves with great sincerity: “How stupid am I?”. Then, after careful and lucid analysis, it will be excellent to realize the degree of stupidity that characterizes you at this stage in which you currently find yourself.

It is very important to realize that, in reality, the keen awareness of the states of stupidity and mediocrity in which we complacently dwell is a wonderful spark of genius that each of you urgently needs.

Identifying some of the characteristics of the state of foolishness that we have already mentioned helps us to realize urgently that although we are not yet aware of the state of foolishness in which we find ourselves, foolishness nevertheless exists within us and is cryptic. Then it is necessary to do everything in our power without delay to make such obvious characteristics of stupidity disappear, to annihilate them from our inner universe.

By doing so, we considerably reduce the state of foolishness in which we found ourselves, and we will later be happy to see that the beneficial results will not be long in coming. We will thus see that our appropriate, constructive efforts have not been in vain, and this will motivate us to continue with great enthusiasm the process of diminishing and even annihilating the state of foolishness in which we previously complacently remained.

Many of the aspects of the state of foolishness that we have unveiled here are being presented for the first time, and unfortunately, it may take many decades or even centuries before those who study foolishness as a condition will be able to recognize their condition and then bother to take it into account, so that foolishness can be definitively eliminated.

It is also essential to remember that a powerful, quick, and crucial antidote that makes it possible to diminish and even quickly annihilate the state of foolishness in our inner universe is the considerable dynamization and deepening of the awakening of our supramental sheath vijnanamaya kosha.

Moreover, the dynamization of the supramental sheath vijnanamaya kosha in our being awakens and then amplifies the state of genius.

If, among the human beings who will read this exposition carefully, there are some who will say, “I am not interested in having brilliant thinking and being a great genius,” we can be absolutely sure that these people are imbeciles, and there can be no doubt about it.

It is necessary to know that all geniuses who have existed or exist on this planet, without exception, have enjoyed an obvious, proportional dynamization of their supramental sheath (vijnanamaya kosha). Advanced yogis and tantric masters have known for thousands of years the fundamental secret of genius, which arises through the awakening and considerable energization of the supramental sheath (vijnanamaya kosha).

There is much more to be said about the strange condition already known by the somewhat paradoxical name of intellectual foolishness, but given that it is a vast and complex subject, we will not address it on this occasion. We will simply mention briefly that, unfortunately, many researchers, scholars, and scientists are characterized by an acute state of foolishness of intelligence.

The foolishness of intelligence wreaks havoc in the inner universe of many human beings on this planet. This strange condition was cryptically defined by the well-known French initiate Francois Rabelais, who said: “Science without conscience leads to the ruin of the soul.”

An outstanding example, we might say, of plurivalent and luminous genius is the great physicist Albert Einstein. Some of Albert Einstein’s absolutely brilliant discoveries mathematically confirmed what the millennial tradition of wisdom of the Tantra Yoga system had known for over 7,000 years.

The biological transmutation into gigantic energy of the substantial procreative potential of human beings at body temperature during amorous play based on mutual love (and which integrates a clearly superior erotic modality known as amorous erotic continence) was commonly practiced by tantric aspirants thousands of years ago.

In this way, practitioners of this revolutionary way of making love became capable of lovemaking for up to 20 hours continuously, without becoming exhausted, without losing their erection, reaching dozens of overwhelming orgasms and experiencing immense happiness that are unimaginable for ordinary couples, in which men ejaculate 3-5 minutes after inserting their penis (lingam) into the woman’s vagina (yoni).

For the foolish, obtuse, and sceptical, this seems impossible, unbelievable. However, it is something natural and even innate for women who are gifted by nature to easily practice erotic amorous continence and thus experience such renewed and intoxicating states of happiness, which project them into what is called the Ninth Heaven.

However, it is evident that this truly revolutionary, utterly extraordinary way of achieving exemplary happiness will never be approached or embraced by those who are foolish, lethargic, sceptical, and immature, nor by women who are fickle, inconsistent, and foolish, who do not really know what they want in life.

About all this, stupid human beings will rush to say: “I’m not interested in any of this, and I think it’s nonsense that’s not worth bothering with.”

However, this approach will be embraced without hesitation, with enthusiasm, dedication, and aspiration by intelligent, intuitive, refined human beings who are full of beneficial curiosity and optimism, and who will then be able to see its extraordinary value through grams of practice.

When we look around us with great attention and lucidity, we find that this spontaneous selection exists and functions incessantly.

The foolish will often not embrace this path, which is implicitly reserved only for those who are sufficiently prepared, sufficiently intelligent, with a great deal of common sense, curious, enthusiastic, sufficiently open, who often ask themselves intelligent, meaningful questions about the mysteries they glimpse in the wonderful mysteries that exist in the physical reality around them.

That is precisely why the reality of these amazing mysteries is indirectly reserved for the few who will then be the chosen ones (who chose themselves, so to speak, by doing what was necessary to become the chosen ones). Therefore, the chosen ones are those who did everything necessary to be chosen.

Other safe and effective ways to eliminate the state of foolishness

In yoga practice, in Hatha Yoga practice, in Tantra Yoga practice, every appropriate tapas that is undertaken properly, in an enthusiastic and persevering manner, which is then carried through to completion, represents a way in which the state of inertia specific to the subtle fluid tamas guna is transformed by the secret fire of sacrifice (tapas) and helps considerably in the overall gradual diminution of the state of stupidity.

Each appropriate tapas that is successfully completed brings about certain fruits which, among other aspects, cause the subtle sattva guna fluid to increase to a certain extent in the aspirant’s inner universe.

That is why, in order to diminish and even annihilate the state of foolishness, all tapas that is carried out successfully plays a very important role that is often unknown.

In other words, it can be said that the harmonious energization of the higher centres of force (including the subtle essential centre of being, sahasrara padma, the subtle centre of force ajna chakra, and the subtle centre of force anahata chakra) also plays a very important role in reducing and eliminating the state of foolishness. From this perspective, the gradual expansion of the sphere of consciousness can be achieved and experienced directly as such through the awakening and harmonious energizing of all the subtle centres of force (chakras). This is a sure and quick way to eliminate the state of foolishness that exists in the universe of the human being.

The principle of awareness

To conclude, we could add something fundamental, namely that almost always the foolishness we prove ourselves capable of is paid for later, as necessary, in various ways. Often the consequences of our foolishness are inevitable and bring about corresponding shortcomings and suffering.

It is also necessary to consider that, although stupid people do not suspect it, they have a hidden common world in which they indulge and in which most of them live day after day throughout their lives. Very few people know that stupid people have a common world that influences them in various ways and conditions them.

Although there have been many attempts to define foolishness in more or less complete ways, and sometimes even extensive studies have been conducted on this often hidden protean condition that affects to varying degrees human beings (living on this planet) who have not attained wisdom, the steps taken in this direction are anaemic.

How many of all these researchers know that, fundamentally, the state of stupidity that already exists or appears and becomes increasingly accentuated under the often unsuspected influence of certain causes is the result of the predominance in the universe of the human being of the subtle fluid that has been known for thousands of years as tamas guna?

The strange resistance encountered by some who nevertheless sought to bring the state of foolishness into light in the effervescent consciousness of human beings is further proof of the strange cryptic power that this protean state exerts over those who are already under its influence and most often do not even suspect it.

This is precisely why we need to remember that one of the bizarre defences of foolishness is based on the same deceptive method that Satan and demons prefer to use in their cruel and deceitful game.

The aim is always, without exception, to convince those who are already under such influence that, in fact, neither demons nor Satan exist. In the same deceptive and perverse way, foolishness most often manifests itself in the sense of convincing the poor man who is already under its bewildering, captivating influence that, in fact, his foolishness does not even exist.

That is precisely why most of the significant situations that are, in reality, evidence of foolishness, as well as all the circumstances in which the crass stupidity of certain people comes to light, are considered by the foolish and lethargic to be mere trivial coincidences, and are thus overlooked.

As can be observed through lucid and careful analysis, foolishness as a state generally obeys a basic spiritual principle, which we can call the Principle of Awareness.

According to this principle, when we manage to become aware of a certain state and thus come to feel and discover it for what it truly is, it will lead us to its origin and may even reveal something essential to us through our spiritual Heart.

With regard to these aspects, it is worth remembering that there are some already famous sayings that contain at least glimpses of this universal wisdom: “Fear only your own fear” or “Love even love itself.”

As soon as we significantly energize the supramental sheath (vijnanamaya kosha), it becomes possible to diminish and even suspend the state of foolishness in our inner universe. And through enthusiastic and persistent deepening of the supramental states, we thus take a first step toward experiencing states of genius.
