The 7 Universal Laws That Govern the Macrocosmic Creation of God As They Were Revealed by Hermes Trismegistos
The Fundamental Laws of the All (God)

The supreme wisdom of Hermes Trismegistos or Thoth (called the God of Wisdom in the Ancient Egypt and even considered a divine incarnation), brings with it into the eternity, beyond the apparent progress of the world’s civilizations, the supreme divine Light of true knowledge, that reveals the eternal divine Laws of creation beyond time and space.
We hereby offer a succinct presentation and an explanation of these Laws, whose illuminating grace is meant to bring to the reader the supreme Light of the Divine Consciousness. This should offer him/her a much more profound, ample and real understanding of the entire creation and of the laws that structure it, also governing its own existence. These Laws are valid throughout the entire creation, on each level of existence, as they are eternal and unchanging. It is said that only GOD’S UNCONDITIONED LOVE IS ABLE TO TRANSCEND THEM.
1. The Law of Mentalism
“THE ALL IS SPIRIT; The Universe is Mental. The reality of the Universe consists of SPIRIT. Everything is in SPIRIT.”
This principle reveals to us the very reality of the divine essence of the entire creation, the Supreme Spirit of God the Father that makes for eternity the substrate of everything, beyond the appearances of the phenomenal world. Through the supreme game of His almighty and determining will, God creates everything in Himself, out of Himself, through the absolute power of His Mind, in a supreme self-giving, first occulting Himself, then revealing Himself, in the supreme game of self-recognition, in this world of phenomenal appearances that (although it is nothing more than a mental projection) faces us with a supreme paradox (as for its unreality we could only say that it is relative). Therefore Hermes Trismegistos teaches us that:
“Beyond the universe of Time and Space there are always hidden the Substantial Reality, the Fundamental Truth”.
“That which is the Fundamental Truth, the Substantial Reality, has no need for a special name, yet the enlightened people call it the All or, in other words, God”.
“The ALL (God) creates (in its infinite Spirit) numberless Universes, which exist for billions of centuries and yet, for the ALL (God), the creation, the evolution, the decline and the death of a billion universes would seem nothing more than a blink”.
“The infinite spirit of the ALL is the Bosom of Universes”.
He also reveals to us the Omnipresence of the ALL in all or in other words the omnipresence of God in the whole creation:
“If it is true that everything is in ALL… then it is equally true that the ALL (God) is in everything (everywhere). The one that perfectly understands this truth already holds a great knowledge”.
As he will know that everything that exists has as essence God’s Spirit or in other words that everything is God in essence and that God exists in everything, taking the apparent manifestation of the realities of the phenomenal world. Therefore we are warned:
“Don’t yield to the temptation of the smattered that lets himself hypnotized by the apparent unreality of things; that person, as a consequence, wanders everywhere as an individual living in a world of dreams and, ignoring the practical wonder and the real life of people, will end up “crushed against the rocks” and will find himself “torn apart by the elements”, due to his “madness”.
Understanding this Law of mentalism allows us to easily master the laws of the mental Universe and to apply them for our continuous growth and inner development, using the process of the Mental Transmutation as it was revealed by Hermes Trismegistos:
“The spirit, as well as the metals and the elements, is able to pass from one state to another, from one degree to another, from one condition to another, from one pole to another, from one vibration to another. This hermetical transmutation is a Mental Art.” 2. The Law of Correspondence (Analogy)
“That which is UP is exactly as that which is DOWN, that which is DOWN is exactly as that which is UP”.
Naturally completing the previous Law (UP, at the supreme level of consciousness and vibration and DOWN, at the lowest level of consciousness and vibration), we find everywhere the same omnipresent Divine Spirit, either at its fully revealed form (in the plenitude of its manifestation, at the supreme level of consciousness) or in an occulted, potential form (at the inferior level), as we already know that “All is Spirit”.
Thus the macrocosm and the microcosm would find themselves in a constant and perfect mirroring and correspondence, exactly the same as the Supreme Heavenly Father is in the Son and the Son is in the Father. The whole manifestation is a continuous unfolding of the holographic principle, which allows us to permanently find the whole inside the part and the part inside the whole.
Yet more than that, we now understand the true significance of the fact that the human being (the divine spark that is present down, at the level of the creation) was created in the image and likeness of God (the Supreme Spirit that is Up, at the Supreme level from which everything comes). We thus realize (at its true depth) the fact that the Divine could reveal itself into the manifestation and also that the manifestation could be and is meant to lead to the Divine. The same divine Laws govern all the plans and levels of existence and the principle of correspondence and analogy helps us understand many secrets of nature and the outer and inner universe (and this happens by transposing what is up to what is down).
3. The Law of Vibration
“Nothing rests, everything moves, everything vibrates”.
The whole creation is nothing else than the creating, vibrating unfolding of the divine, creative Supreme Vibration, SPANDA, of God’s Heart. Yet everything vibrates on different vibrating frequency, which structures the very plans of the manifestation. Thus, everything is a form of vibration, starting from the supreme divine Vibration of God’s Heart, of the Supreme Spirit, to the matter. Spirit and matter are nothing else than different degrees of vibration and between these two poles billions of different degrees of vibration are included, practically the whole evolutionary scale. This means that rising the vibrating frequency is nothing else than a permanent rising of the level of consciousness.
Knowing this law is of great importance, as it allows us to put into practice one of the Hermetic axioms that teaches us:
“In order to change your state of spirit or your mental states, change your vibration”,
Because we remind you that:
“The spirit, as well as the metals and the elements, could be transformed from state to state, from degree to degree, from condition to condition and from vibration to vibration”.
Therefore it is said in the occult tradition (regarding the power of mental control upon one’s own being) that: “he/she who understands the Law of vibration wins the scepter of power”.
4. The Law of Polarity
“Everything is dual; everything has 2 poles; everything has its pair of opposites; like and unlike are the same; opposites are identical in nature, but different in degree; extremes meet; all truths are but half truths; all paradoxes may be reconciled.”
Throughout manifestation everything finds its opposite, the primordial divine unity exists within the entire creation in its separation in two fundamental, complementary poles, one masculine and one feminine. And here we do not speak in reference to THE YANG and THE YIN, which find their polar form both in a vertical plane, as the heavenly yang and the earthly yin, and also in a horizontal plane, as the masculine pole and feminine pole, that first express The Principle of Gender, but we rather refer to the dual, polar manifestation that expresses the different degrees of polarization of the primordial unity still extant now only as essence.
This mutual polarization is what generated all the apparent paradoxes which may always be reconciled due to their unity in essence. Only in appearance can the paradoxes coexist at the same time! Therefore every time we assert something, we also instantly create the negation of that, making them equally true and untrue, making all the truths just half truths and in reality the only Ultimate Truth the only one to transcend them and to stay intangible to any debate.
The opposite poles are only expressing the different degree of polarization of the essential oneness that gave birth to them, thus manifesting itself as polar duality; without that there could be no actual manifestation and everything that existed would only be the the supreme and essential creator Consciousness. We thus find in manifestation the up and down, the good and the evil, light and darkness etc., which always meet at their ends. This universal principle governs the Mental plane as well, hence the exceptional value of this hermetic teaching. This reveals the art of Mental Alchemy which means we can transform evil into good, one pole into its opposite, on any plane, on any level, like one of the hermetic axioms teaches us: „In order to destroy an undesirable rate of mental vibration, put into practice the Principle of Polarity and concentrate upon the opposite pole to that which you desire to suppress. Winn against the undesirable by changing its polarity.”
In this very simple way, which actually requires some mental force , fear will be overcome by evoking a state of courage, egoism with altruism, sadness with joy etc., because the two poles coexist simultaneously and they can be interchanged by mental alchemy.
5. The Law of the Rhythm
“Everything flows out and in; everything has its tides; all things rise and fall; the pendulum-swing manifests in everything; the measure of the swing to the right is the measure of the swing to the left; rhythm compensates.”
Everything is cyclic in manifestation, following a preset ryhtm, everything advances and then retreats, rises then sinks, everything is occult in the beginning and finaly revealed. There is a to and fro motion resembling a pendulum swinging between the above mentioned poles, this truth being valid for the entirer manifestation, both in the creation and destruction of worlds and also in the mental plane.
This law cannot be annuled, however it can be diminished or its effects can be overcomed by using the Mental Law of Neutralization, in this case the mental alchemy implies an inner state of total neutrality, that of a conscious and detached witness, or if these states are too difficult to attain, he can have a state of complete self-abandon in front of the Divine Will, which willl allow the initiated follower to avoid the rythmic swing of the pendulum which will tend to carry him to the other pole. That presumes a certain degree of mastery which confers an amazing balance and a mental poise to those who don’t understand its mysteries and laws.
6. The Law of cause and effect
“Every Cause has its Effect; every Effect has its Cause; everything occurs according to the law; chance is but the name for a law not recognized; there are many planes of causation, but nothing escapes the law!”
The effect always naturally follows the cause, nothing is ever accidental or subject to hazard. The entire creation is in perfect accordance with God’s order and harmony, nothing can exceed the divine laws, which govern the universe. The fundamental revelation that hermetic wisdom brings is the way in which we can raise above the mundane plane of causality, as by accesing a superior level of consciousness the preceding effect becomes here a new generating cause which can, by wise attitude, shift the flow of events; in this regard, the hermetic axioms state:
„Nobody can avoid the Law of cause and effect, hence there are more causality planes and any individual can use the Laws of the superior planes to dominate the Laws of the inferior planes.”
„The wise man will benefit by the superior and is served by the inferior plane. He will obey the rules coming from above, but on his plane and the ones below him, he rules and gives orders. For that matter, with such an attitude he is part of the Principle, instead of opposing it. The wise man is a part of the Law by well understanding its movements and operates it rather than being its blind servant.”
Hence the priceless value of these divine revelations of the hermetic wisdom given that they are accurately understood and practiced, as:
„Just as does the skilled swimmer, going and coming as he will instead of being as the log carried here and there, so is the wise man as compared to the ordinary man; yet both swimmer and log, wise man and ordinary man are subject to the Law. He who understands this truth well is already on the way to mastery.”
7. The Law of gender
“Gender is in everything; everything has its Masculine and Feminine principles; gender manifests on all planes.”
No material, mental or spiritual creation is ever possible without this dual polarized manifestation, masculine-feminine, which eternally underlies any creative process, starting with supreme plane of creation (the Divine Heavenly Father, SHIVA creates through the Divine Mother, MAHASHAKTI), and also this disjunction is what gives the eternal impulse of the endeavor of reunion to form the Primordial Supreme Union that gave birth to everything.
To deny this polarization and its essential part means forgetting that SHIVA without SHAKTI is only SHAVA (corpse) and that SHAKTI without SHIVA is nothing but a blind force that cannot fulfill its vocation. Conversely, when the two polarities meet in total harmony, unified through Divine Love, the Divine Unity is reintegrated and the Divine is revealed to its absolute greatness and beauty. For this reason it is said the GOD’S UNCONDITONAL LOVE IS THE ONLY ONE TRANSCENDING EVERYTHING.
