Geniuses, Radicals and Sages: It’s Time to Break Free

The hypnosis of social conditioning is hard to escape. You’ve got to be an awakened intellectual or spiritual being. If you want to break free from tyranny, war, oppression, and all its cousins, you’ve got to be either a sage, a genius, or a radical thinker. There’s no escaping this fact, but paradoxically, owning these traits will reveal to you the surest exit.

Albert Einstein

The Intellectual Outlaw

Look at Buckminster Fuller, he once intensely studied the oral tradition or chants of the Maoris which go back more than 50 generations just because it deeply interested him.

He also happened to be one of the first global thinkers who shunned the status quo and self-taught his warped societal programming succinctly into an early grave.
This allowed “Bucky”, as he was known to friends, to make very accurate predictions about where the world was going, and what he might do to solve the issues that face humanity, instead of playing blindly inside the Matrix and becoming another of humanity’s tragedies.

Just as one example of what his outside-the-box thinking allowed, Fuller predicted in 1959 that global food production and distribution would lead to global food poverty by the year 2000. Nearly twenty years later, in 1977, the National Academy of Sciences confirmed his prediction.

Then there’s the geodesic dome, and so much more, but you get the drift. The man was an outlaw, but not because he was expecting anyone to elect him for president. He wanted to transform the world by transforming his own thinking.

Another intellectual outlaw can be found in Edward Leedskalnin, famous for his creation of Coral Castle, but also a man who debunked the weak foundations of modern atomic science.

Here’s what Leedskalnin thought of contemporary education in the 1930s, when he wrote this dialogue. This is now printed into pamphlets which are widely distributed to visitors of Coral Castle: “You know we receive an education in the schools from books. All those books that people became educated from twenty-five years ago, are wrong now, and those that are good now, will be wrong again twenty-five years from now. So if they are wrong then, they are also wrong now, and the one who is educated from the wrong books is not educated, he is misled. All books that are written are wrong, the one who is not educated cannot write a book and the one who is educated, is really not educated but he is misled and the one who is misled cannot write a book which is correct.

The misleading began when our distant ancestors began to teach their descendants. You know they knew nothing but they passed their knowledge of nothing to the coming generations and it went so innocently that nobody noticed it.

Now I will tell you what education is according to my reasoning. An educated person is one whose senses are refined. We are born as brutes, we remain and die as the same if we do not become polished. But all senses do not take polish. Some are too coarse to take it. The main base of education is one’s self-respect. Any one lacking self-respect cannot be educated. The main bases of self-respect is the willingness to learn, to do only the things that are good and right, to believe only in the things that can be proved, to possess appreciation and self-control.

Now, if you lack willingness to learn, you will remain as a brute and if you do things that are not good and right, you will be a low person, and if you believe in things that cannot be proved, any feeble minded person can lead you, and if you lack appreciation, it takes away the incentive for good doing and if you lack self-control you will never know the limit. So all those lacking these characteristics in their makeup are not educated.”

Yet another wise rebel was Nikola Tesla. He was another self-taught man. He often knew more than his teachers, even when he went to school, because he studied subjects very deeply. He didn’t care about grades, only acquiring wisdom and unlocking the secrets of energy, mathematics, electromagnetism, light, and other oddities.

Yet this Croatian-born scientist isn’t even mentioned in most of our history books (there again proving exactly what Leedskalnin said about our books being wrong.)
This ability by three of the most notorious intellectual mavericks of our time should be noted. They were able to think clearly because they were not fully indoctrinated into a certain way of thinking.

Our collective history is littered with original thinkers, artists, and inventors like these, yet we rarely hear of them, and therefore cannot learn from their amazing originality. Unless of course, we too become mavericks and move away from the herd.

The Genius

This brings us to the genius. One Psychology Today article will try to tell you that a true genius is the “right mix” of submission and rebellion, but this is just more propaganda to get you to toe the social line. The article uses examples of Picasso who spent time learning realism before he dove into his famous and free-thinking abstractionism, and Darwin who digested the works of Lamarckian inheritance before be talked about the “survival of the fittest”.

However, these geniuses did not “submit” to the views of others. They were not submissive at all. They simply used their intelligence, reason, and discernment to call out what they thought could be improved upon or what simply wasn’t true. They didn’t allow “science” or even the then-existing state of affairs in creative circles to determine where to go next in their minds. All frontiers were fair game.

Another example of the maverick genius can be found in a surfer and snowboarder who lives in Hawaii named Garrett Lisi. He is a PhD theoretical physicist who has proposed theories that are often shunned by his contemporaries. He is a bit of an ascetic and often lives on friend’s couches in Maui. He prefers to spend time near the ocean and live a simple life.

Garrett Lisi

Lisi wrote a white paper entitled An Exceptionally Simple Theory of Everything, proposing that high energy physics can help define most of our earth-bound and cosmic phenomenon, which was posted to a site at Cornell University, but it has barely gotten notice by more mainstreamed physics “experts.”

Like others in this field, including Nassim Haramein, groundbreaking theories are proposed, only to be snickered at by the intellectual elite, too afraid to release their false hierarchies and inflated egos.

The Sage

Arguably there’s a little intellectual outlaw and some genius in every sage, but those who are looking at the world through spiritual glasses see things that we, who are stuck in our first three CHAKRA-s conscience never even consider.

The sage brings together the intellectual maverick’s qualities and marries them with genius, but also rises completely above mere mortal intelligence. The sage taps into Cosmic Intelligence, and arguably any great advance in civilization was a man or woman tapping into this Cosmic Wisdom, if only in a tiny burst – enough to give them an a-ha moment or see a novel solution to a deep-seated and entrenched problem.

For most of us, even if we are able to be intellectually original and tap into some genius, we are working only through physical, emotional, and mental energy. For most of our childhood and early adult lives, our energy is frozen into place by traumatic experiences. At birth, this energy flows freely, but by the time we reach our twenties, most of us are a mine-field full of physical, emotional, and mental energy stagnation.

Our CHAKRA-s become blocked, and so we have arm-chair “gurus” who may experience a little higher awareness, but it gets stuck in them as well or comes out sideways in the form of worshiping fake gurus or the erroneous use of intellectual, sexual, or emotional power against others.

It is necessary for us to clean the blockages from the CHAKRA-s before we can fully attain Cosmic Wisdom. It is only then that the subtle energy of the Universe can then rise up into the higher CHAKRA-s and create harmony between our intellects, our emotions, and our spiritual lives.
Ironically, it is by facing the character flaws which are created by trauma and stuck emotions in the lower chakras that we can then raise our consciousness, and experience radical transformation.

It is said that most saints and sages like Buddha, Rumi, St. John of the Cross, Baal Chem Tov, Meher Baba, Muktananda, Ayya Kema, Buddhamitrā, Chagdud Rinpoche, Kriyananda, Paramahansa Yogananda and others all experienced this true cleansing of their CHAKRA-s to tap into intellectual and spiritual gifts that would make Tesla, Fuller, Leedskalnin and others’ gifts seem minuscule.

Overcoming ignorance and delusion takes bravery. Freeing the consciousness is not easy. It takes hard work and tremendous willpower, determination, and humbleness.
The illumination of the consciousness is a universal phenomenon, but it was never meant to stop with mere book learning. To break free, it is necessary to shrug off the intellectual shackles of Maya, or the Matrix, of illusion. To enlighten ourselves we must literally illuminate that which has been dark.

The sage points the way, and preconceived ideas and rigid thoughts stand in the way of the light. When you achieve this state it is spontaneous and free. You’ll know it when you get there, as it is unmistakable.

Until then, start by looking away from the mainstream. Work on clearing out the junk from your CHAKRA-s, and you’ll be surprised how clearly you can start to see through the illusion. Ask yourself if the actions you do and the thoughts you think were chosen by you or put there by someone else (in your adult life as well as in childhood), and then use unfailing discernment to decide how you can cultivate true genius – intellectually and spiritually.
